Renting with Ferndown Estates

The Government have produced a useful ‘How To Rent a Safe Home’ booklet guide for tenants thinking about or currently renting properties in England and Wales.

Please click here to view the How to Rent a Safe Home Guide - This guide will be issued to all tenants when they move into any of our properties.

We were one of the very first agents in the UK who chose to scrap the charging of fees in order to reduce the burden for people looking to move and find a suitable home to rent. We abolished charging fees in October 2017, well before the tenant fee ban came into effect.

We wanted to encourage more tenants to rent via our company. So, scrapping application fees became our thing...and it worked!!

By scrapping fees to tenants we had lots of tenants wanting to rent via ourselves and we were able to tell landlords we had lots more tenants to choose from for their properties!

From 1st June 2019 Agents and landlords are no longer be able to charge high fees to tenants who want to move into their properties. This is seen as a positive step for tenants who are able to move into properties without onerous charges. In the event you wish to apply for one of our properties, you will be asked to pay a holding fee which allows us to remove the property from the market whilst we go through our referencing process with you.

The referencing process can only be conducted on one property at a time and we can only take one holding fee per tenant.

It is important you know that the maximum time we can hold onto holding fees is 15 days.

We are keen to promote positive relationships between tenants and landlords and encourage a positive, rewarding and responsive process for all.

Our streamlined application process can mean your chosen property is available for you in a short space of time. As part of our application process we like to come and meet you at your own property to introduce our service and discuss your tenancy requirements to ensure the property is right for you (and your family).

We offer single lets, couples, families, corporate and multiple lets depending on the property.

Typically 12 months tenancies are issued however, we are happy to discuss alternative timeframes (subject to satisfactory references and in some cases a suitable guarantor). All persons over 18 will need to appear on the tenancy agreements we issue.

We welcome your enquiry to any of our properties. Please click on the link below which explains our process further!

Thank you for thinking of choosing Ferndown Estates for your ongoing tenancy!
